ESL Instructional Coach
Gabriella is an ESL Instructional Coach at PLI. She began volunteering at PLI as an ESL teacher in Fall 2017, and she joined PLI’s staff in January 2020. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and her Masters of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Biola University. During college, she began volunteering with international student ministry and tutoring ESL students at several organizations, including the English Institute for International Students at the University of Tulsa and the Learning English Among Friends (LEAF) program at Baylor University. After moving to Houston in 2011, she volunteered as an ESL teacher at Rice Temple Baptist Church, the Muslim Community Center, and Literacy Advance of Houston. Prior to joining PLI, she also worked in engineering and data analysis at Chevron for five years.
In her free time, she enjoys indoor rock climbing, biking, woodworking, camping, playing games, hanging out with friends, and serving in women’s prison ministry.
