Community Events
We provide opportunities to gather and celebrate holidays and other important events. We offer hospitality, share meals, have fun together, and engage in thoughtful faith conversations. These events deepen relationships with PLI clients and the broader community.
Typical Community Celebrations:
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- International Women’s Day
- Easter
- End of Year Celebration
We also minister to our community by providing support during emergency situations such as Hurricane Harvey, Winter Storm Uri, and the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
Our church partners sponsor these events, providing the funds and volunteers necessary.

My family really like the community events. During Covid-19, they were the first to send us info. My husband always appreciated it.

PLI has helped me with a lot of things. Before I didn’t speak English. Now I can read and write. I used to go to the store with my husband, but now I can go alone. It's good. It has helped me become more independent. I can also help my daughter with her homework. My mom is sick and I can send her money to buy medicine and anything she needs. Now I can help my family. I am very happy and proud that I can help them.
