Teen Girls Program
We support high school girls, ages 12-19, academically and socially through our Teen Girls Group. At PLI, we understand that cultural transitions can be difficult on every member of the family. We desire to support and empower young ladies to thrive in the United States. Our team of mentors work with these adolescent girls to provide the encouragement and support they need to thrive in their school, in their friendships, and in the community.
The primary focuses of our Teen Girls Group are character development and building a safe environment to develop trustworthy friendships. Our mentors model godly character and lead discussions of topics of interest to teenagers and highlight a different character trait each week. Our staff comes alongside these young ladies and their parents to help them navigate the U.S. educational system and promote their thriving in their community.

Salma
Salma, from the Teen Girl’s Group, has been taking care of her younger siblings while her parents are visiting ailing family members in their home country. She was able to arrange for most of their needs, but one thing she couldn’t do was school pick-up for her two younger siblings. Several PLI staff stepped in to take care of school pick-ups for the weeks her parents were gone. Salma said, “I don’t know how to thank you! It’s just that words aren’t enough to express how grateful my family and I are for you.”
