Programs Administrative Assistant
Laura moved to Houston in January 2011, taking a temporary position with Houston Refuge English Institute, an ESL school for refugees, for six months. In the fall of 2011, she got a job with Berlitz, a language program, to continue teaching ESL. There she met her husband, and they were married in 2016.
Laura has worked with numerous non-profit organizations: Meals-on-Wheels; Child Development, a Head Start program; American School for Women and Children, an ESL program in Toledo, Ohio; and Houston Refuge. She is excited to be back in a non-profit, faith-based setting, working in a refugee/immigrant community.
In her free time, she visits her niece in College Station, sews, makes jewelry, and plays with her three crazy fur babies.
