Danielle Obringer

Danielle has over a decade of teaching experience that includes curricula design, implementing integrative teaching methods and leading volunteer teachers and tutors. She has improved the English skills of over 600 students from a variety of ages, educational and cultural backgrounds. As a co-founder, Danielle has worked with PLI in a variety of roles since 2012. Danielle currently leads the ESL team and offers curriculum support and ESL training for volunteers. She is passionate about educating women, especially those with limited literacy skills, and enjoys opportunities to share the love of God while serving at PLI.  Prior to PLI, Danielle worked as a community advocate for refugees and taught Pre-literacy and Beginning ESL at Wisdom High School in HISD.  

Danielle is ESL certified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and completed her Master of Education in Literacy and Second Language Studies with a focus on Adult and International TESL through the University of Cincinnati. She is a two-time UC graduate having completed her BS in English Education. 

In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with friends and her husband, Michael. She loves outdoor adventures, attending sporting events, reading historical fiction, drinking tea, learning from other cultures and baking dairy-free confections.
